Bedfordshire Schools Training Partnership

Summer 2018

"Deciding to train with Beds SCITT was the best decision I have made. You get realistic and thorough training which sets you up to become an NQT.

The team at Beds SCITT supported me from the beginning. Every question or query you have is answered and you never feel out of the loop.

The team environment at Beds SCITT is what I feel helped me throughout the course. I've made great new friends and people I can always speak to and trust.

The twilight sessions and training days really do enlighten the training and let you meet/observe teachers who have been in your position. These twilight sessions have included meeting heads of departments, deputy heads and head teachers and this was definitely something to aspire to and show just how far you can go as a teacher.

My highlight of my teacher training would be finally realising the year I loved to teach because of the variety of training you experience. I trained in both Year 1 and Year 4 and my experience in Year 4 made me realise Key Stage 2 was definitely for me.

I have been an NQT for 3 weeks now and I feel prepared to return after the summer holidays because of the training I received at Beds SCITT."

"I am a student of 2017-18. I was very sure I wanted to pursue a career in teaching but I was unsure which route to take, So I went to an Open Evening provided by Beds SCITT. This was where I met Lorna (Primary Admin Manager at that time). She was fantastic and gave me every single detail I needed to know. The evening itself gave me an insight into what was expected from the course. I liked the sound of it and applied for a PGCE QTS placement. It was an in-depth year and one I shall never forget! It was the best experience. My mentor and my main placement at St Joseph's and St Gregory's Primary taught me so much! I'm so glad Beds SCITT found an amazing school for me to learn and teach in. Now I am a Year 2 teacher there and very excited to start my NQT year!"
